The University of Texas at El Paso and El Paso Community College believe that a home is not just a location or state of mind. A home is where your heart is. This is the concept behind the Team Texas U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon entry, ADAPT.
El Paso's mountains, desert climate, and strong winds will be infused in the organic structure of the ADAPT house. The plans to emulate the indigenous Pueblo's adaptions to the Chihuahua desert in its design, which is envisioned as a home for the modern native desert dweller. Through ADAPT, the team hopes to set a new standard of environmental efficiency throughout its community and region.
