Last month, the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon® was honored with the Malcolm Lewis IMPACT! Award during the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Live conference. The annual USGBC awards recognize organizations that have demonstrated vision and commitment to the advancement of the green building industry; other recipients this year included Marriott International and the District of Columbia.

“The Solar Decathlon team is proud of and humbled by this recognition,” said Holly Jamesen Carr, Director of the Solar Decathlon in the Building Technologies Office. “I was thrilled to accept the award in person on behalf of the organizing team and our creative, passionate, and inspiring students and faculty members who devote so much to the program each year.”
