Solar Decathlon 2002

The students from Texas A&M University who participated in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2002 demonstrated their advanced construction skills during the competition. Their solar-powered house featured commercially available appliances that were retrofitted to be more energy-efficient. Although the house was disassembled after the competition, the students did save their appliances. These remain in storage along with the photovoltaic panels.
