2024 Design Challenge Results
Design Challenge Division Winners were announced during the Solar Decathlon Competition Event in Golden, Colorado, April 19-21, 2024.
The students from 40 Finalist Teams represented 37 collegiate institutions during the 2024 Design Challenge. Teams competed in one of four divisions: Single-Family Housing, Attached Housing, Multifamily Building, or Education Building.

2024 DESIGN CHALLENGE GRAND WINNER
- The University of Arizona—Tucson, Arizona (Attached Housing)
- In partnership with the Hopi Tribe, the team designed 24 eco-friendly rowhouses that integrate passive design techniques and a microgrid, while promoting energy sovereignty for the community.
